“We liked our entire trip very much. However we do take issue with the place we got lunch. Lunch was just ok. The bathrooms were deplorable. No toilet paper, no hand soap, and trash cans were filled to over flowing. The port wine presentation was terrific. The presenter was wonderful. The last wine tasting spot was outstanding. “Great opportunity to learn about the Douro Valley, and what makes it so special. We’ve been to Napa and Sonoma dozens of times, and were only looking for a romantic way to spend our anniversary. Pedro, our guide, saw to that, and also taught us more than we imagined about the Douro Valley’s unique climate, schist soil (if you can call it that) and the hard working growers. The visit to Amarante, the wine tasting, and Quinta visit, and the cruise on the river surpassed our expectations, and Pedro’s knowledge seemed bottomless. We highly recommend!”

“A fabulous experience exploring the Duoro Valley with Ricardo. From the moment we arrived in Porto he had arranged for a lovely welcome basket to be delivered to our room. (And considered our dietary restrictions!) Through to the best coffee we had on our trip at a local Portuguese bakery! That was just the beginning…the wine tasting, beautiful lunch, meeting the local fire fighters to drinks in the square! Finishing off with a beautiful glass of bubbles overlooking the best view!”

“This really was the best tour of our trip. Our tour guide Leo was a sommelier and he was so great and knowledgeable. We loved him! We went to two family owned vineyards where the owners did the tours and they were both so informative and they really LOVE what they do! We enjoyed it so much. We didn’t want a big tour and we knew we didn’t want a private tour. We had 8 of us on the tour and it was perfect!! I would highly recommend this tour with grapes journeys.”
